The Story Behind This Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Every great recipe has a story, and these chocolate Chip cookies are no exception.

I remember it being one of those tough homeschool days when nothing was going right.

We were running late.

The house was a mess.

On days like that, I’ve learned to take a step back. Baking always helps us reset, and my girls and I love doing it together.

We were looking for a brownie recipe, because who doesn’t love a good old fashioned brownie right?

We went to the kitchen to gather our ingredients and..

No cocoa.

No oil.

Only 2 eggs left.

But we had butter and chocolate chips.

I remember thinking ” We can make chocolate Chip cookies instead..”.

So we replaced the warm chewy brownies we were looking forward to with these delicious chocolate chip cookies.

And they were a … HOME RUN

Seriously, we made another batch right afterwards because they were so delicious! Our whole day was turned around with a memory and a recipe that will last forever!

Baking Tips For This Easy Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

If you want to make these cookies absolutely perfect, here are some tried-and-true tips:

  1. Use room-temperature ingredients for a smoother dough.
  2. Chill the dough for at least an hour to enhance the flavor and prevent spreading.
  3. Bake until the edges are just set, but the center still looks slightly soft for that gooey texture.

These small adjustments can make a world of difference in achieving bakery-style cookies right at home

Notes

If you would rather use oil, margarine or another type of oil it may slightly change the texture but they will still be yummy!

Feel free to add nuts or any other toping you like.
